Attendance limited to 50 pc

Attendance of Group B, C and D employees in State Government offices has been limited to 50 per cent with immediate effect.
An office memorandum issued by Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu today in view of the COVID-19 pandemic directed all Administrative Secretaries and Deputy Commissioners/Heads of Departments under the State Govt to ensure that office attendance is limited to 50 per cent for Group B, C and D employees every day and the remaining 50 per cent staff work from home.
The office memorandum advised Administrative Secretaries and DCs/HoDs to draft weekly roster of duty for Group B, C and D staff and ask them to attend office on alternative weeks.
The working hours of all employees who attend office on a particular day should be staggered and three groups of employees may be formed and asked to attend office from 9 am to 4.30 pm, 9.30 am to 5 pm and 10 am and 5.30 pm respectively.
The officials who are working from home on a particular day as per the roster drawn up should be available on telephone and electronic means of communication at all times and they should attend office, if called for any exigency, said the office memorandum.
However, the memorandum which would remain in force till March 31 exempted departments/offices and employees engaged in essential/emergency services and those directly engaged in taking measures to control spread of COVID-19 .
