Imphal, March 18 2016 :
Reacting to the allegation made by R Shialloa Aimol of Aimol Tribe Union Manipur (ATUM), the underground United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has dismissed the allegation about the involvement of the UKLF in the shooting incident of March 10 at Pallel bazar as 'bundle of lies' targeted to tarnish the outfit's image and derail the peace process with the Government.
Terming the allegation as very unfortunate, the UKLF in a statement issued by its information and publicity secretary, MP Haokip strongly urged the public not to fall prey to the cheap and hollow propaganda spread by the individual called R Shiallo.
Since its inception, the outfit strives for peaceful coexistence of all communities and this noble ideal is what the outfit is committed to pursue forever, it said.
R Shialloa's false allegation on the outfit is nothing but his sinister ploy to incite communal disharmony among different communities living in the State, it added.
In fact, Aimol Tribe Union, Manipur (ATUM) led by RT Akhel is the mandated apex body of the Aimol tribe endorsed by the people of Aimol tribe and their neighbouring communities, it asserted while adding that R Shialloa's ATUM is a fake one which the people of Aimol tribe do not recognize and accept.
At certain point of time in the past, a small section of the Aimols tried to name their Church congregation as Kom Rem Baptist Association (KRBA) whereas the other majority section of the Aimols preferred Aimol Baptist Association (ABA) and there was arch rivalry within the Aimol tribe.
So at last, since they (Aimols) couldn't solve their internal Church dispute within themselves, Aimol elders and Church leaders approached UKLF leadership to help them out.
So in this regard, UKLF leadership facilitated a crucial meeting of the Aimol tribe leaders, public leaders, Church leaders and the Aimol public to sort out a solution so that they could worship God in peace.
And in this very meeting UKLF leadership, after thoroughly analysing their problems and opinions, advised them democratically to name their Church congregation as Aimol Baptist Association (ABA) since the majority of them opted for the same.
Therefore, it is very shameful on the part of R Shialloa to wrongly accuse the revolutionary organization (UKLF) in complete contrast to the good things the outfit had done for the welfare of the Aimols.
It appealed to the public of Pallel area to be aware of R Shialloa who is actively attempting to rob them off their hard-earned atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.
It further strongly advised R Shialloa Aimol to mend his ways and immediately stop targeting UKLF and mend his ways.
