The suspected armed cadres of NSCN-K, number around 10 of them, came and abducted both of them from their house and shot them dead.

On the other hand, ZSUM has strongly condemned the killing of Chungthuingai Kamei, State Secretary of ZSUM, by suspected UG cadres at Nungkao village along NH 37 near Jiribam yesterday.
In a statement, David Kamei, Information and Publicity Secretary, ZSUM said that even after Chungthuingai Kamei told the armed cadres that he was a student leader and not a UG, no attention was given to him and he was shot dead then and there.
"ZSUM is aggrieved over the murder without warning which was very inhumane and there is no logic in the unwarranted offence against the student leader who had worked hard to bring peace among different UG factions" said the statement.
It further informed that ZSUM volunteers have started blockade on NH 37 with immediate effect and the same would continue till an amicable solution is brought about.
