GOC visits KNF's Ebenezer camp

GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen KK Sinha assessed condition of the Kuki National Front's (KNF) Ebenezer Camp at Natheljang in the General officer's maiden visit to the designated camp of one of the suspension of operation signatories today.
The kuki armed organisation, visibly overwhelmed by the visit, presented traditional gifts to the GOC through its general secretary.
Maj Gen KK Sinha also held wide-ranging discussion with the KNF leaders at the camp's conference hall in the presence of other military officers and Officer in-charge of Kangpokpi police station.
After a patient hearing on various infrastructure inadequacies pointed out by the KNF functionaries, the GOC assured to initiate camp construction works and provide CI sheets to cover the camp blocks.

Under the military civic action programme, a playground for recreational purpose would be developed at the camp site along with introducing vocational training courses for the KNF cadres, said the GOC.
Later, interacting with newspersons, Maj Gen Sinha pledged to contribute his mite in ensuring proper rehabilitation of the KNF cadres and facilitate their return to the mainstream.
He also expressed confidence that imparting vocational training to the young KNF cadres would enable them to sustain a respectable livelihood in the near future.
