Gaikhangam hardsells Congress

MPCC president and Nungba AC MLA Gaikhangam has asserted that only the Congress party can bring development in Manipur.Gaikhangam was speaking at the reception function of some people who joined the Congress party anew.
Md Noor Rahman who contested in the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections from Moirang AC as CPI candidate and Ch Birendra who has already launched election campaign for the forthcoming elections were accorded a reception at Congress Bhavan today on joining the Congress party.
Speaking at the reception function which was also attended by a large number of people from Kwakta and Moirang Assembly segments, Gaikhangam claimed that following a slew of development programmes implemented by the Congress-led Government in both the hills and valley, more and more people are putting faith in Congress party.
If more than 40 Congress candidates are elected in the forthcoming elections so that there can be a Congress exclusive Government, then a lot more development programmes can be taken up more expeditiously, he claimed.
On account of many prominent political leaders joining the party, the Congress party has grown from strength to strength.
MLA Prithiviraj welcomed the new entrants for their faith in Congress party.
He also rejoiced that the strength of Congress party has been restored in Moirang AC.
Noor Rahman said that he joined Congress in view of the benevolent attitude of Chief Minister O Ibobi towards the Muslim people and the various development programmes taken up by the Government in Kwakta area in consultation with MLA Prithiviraj.
MPCC vice-president T Mangibabu exuded confidence that growth of Congress strength in Moirang AC would spill over to Thanga AC .
