Imphal, April 11 2019:
While paying rich tributes to all the martyrs who had laid down their lives for the cause of the Nation, the proscribed RPF has appealed to all the people to take part in offering tributes to the martyrs at their memorial tombs on April 13 .
A statement issued by the outfit's Publicity Secretary Roben Khuman also paid deepest respects to all the women who had lost their husbands and sons on account of the atrocities committed by Indian military forces.
It appealed to all the people to recall the heroes' doctrine, "A day's life of freedom is much more worthwhile than a lifetime of bondage" .
After Manipur was merged into the Indian Union under controversial circumstances, the State's economy has been completely dependent on India.
With all the economic foundations destroyed systematically, there are now many who feel that Manipur would not be able to survive without financial aid from India, alleged the outfit.
It has been more than 60 years since New Delhi has been suppressing the people of Manipur after they took control of the State's sovereignty, it alleged.
RPF and PLA firmly believe that the ongoing liberation movement would be certainly victorious and there will be self-rule when each and every individual join the liberation movement with a greater sense of sacrifice for the masses.
Those heroes and martyrs took the liberation movement to a certain height but some pseudo revolutionaries tarnished and impeded the revolutionary movement by surrendering to adversaries, it rued.
It nonetheless pledged that RPF would fight for the masses till the last breath.
It then appealed to all the people to take part in the 'Martyrs Day' observation and light up lamps at the gates of each and every household in the evening of April 13 .
The outfit further appealed to all the people not to organise any entertainment including community feasts on April 13 .
