1500 reach CCpur, 1020 Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel

About 1500 people staying at different relief camps in Imphal were received at Peace Ground, Tuibong on Wednesday while similar number of people sheltered at relief camps in Churachandpur was given safe passage towards Imphal along with security convoys.
Churachandpur district administration continues make efforts to restore normalcy in the district by reaching out to local CSOs apart from maintaining close coordination among the security forces.
The district administration is also working in close coordination with philanthropic organisations which are running relief camps by extending necessary assistance.
The district administration has also put in place all arrangements to receive people who are stranded outside the district at Peace Ground, Tuibong.
At the same time, no major incidents have been reported during the last 24 hours.
Curfew was relaxed for five hours on Wednesday from 6 am.
In comparison with the previous days, more shops were opened during the curfew relaxation hours and people in larger number came out to buy their daily needs.
The district administration has urged all concerned to maintain peace and refrain from spreading and relying on rumours to avoid breach of peace.
Instead of falling prey to misinformation, facts may be ascertained from the district administration.
On the other-hand, around 1020 people stranded in Ukhrul and Churachandpur district and Moreh sub-divisional town were brought to Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel on Wednesday.
Of the 1020 people, 242 have been taken to Ideal Girls' College, Akampat and 30 to Bishnupur, while 648 left with their families/relatives.
At present, around 100 people are staying at Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel.
Meanwhile, 60 non-Manipuri staff of BIPL engaged in repairing the Singhat road in Churachandpur district also reached Khuman Lampak on Wednesday.
They have been relocated to the BIPL office in Langthabal.
