MP inaugurates dialysis centre at RIMS

Rajya Sabha MP, Leishemba Sanajaoba inaugurated a new 10 bedded dialysis treatment centre at RIMS, Imphal today.
Inaugurating the centre, Sanajaoba stated that the dialysis treatment centre will benefit the public and provide the much needed care and treatment to the patients.
RIMS now has a total of 16 beds for dialysis patients.
Earlier, patients used to go outside the State for dialysis treatment.
The new facility at RIMS will enable the poor patients to save huge money, said Sanajaoba, appreciating the Director of the hospital and his team for providing such a facility for the public.

Director Professor A Santa Singh stated "it is our dream to give best health care facilities to the people of Manipur and other North Eastern States".
RIMS has opened DM Nephrology course since last year.
10 new machines with 3 RO have been installed at the Department of Nephrology today.
The Nephrology Department can now produce two DM doctors every year which is "our contribution to India".
The institute is planning to start kidney transplantation in the near future in collaboration with AIIMS, New Delhi or Gujarat Government, he said.
Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Professor Ch Arunkumar Singh, Head of Nephrology Department, K Doungel, Deputy Director (Admn), Dr T Brojen Singh, Heads of Departments, faculty from medical, dental and College of Nursing, Nursing Superintendent, officials attended the inauguration function.
Later, MP Leishemba Sanajaoba interacted with the Director and officials in the Jubilee Hall, RIMS.
The Director briefed him on the various steps being taken up to develop the institute as one of the best medical institutes in India.
Sanajaoba also assured all possible assistance and his best efforts to bring RIMS to the status of AIIMS.
