Fund allocation for Depts revised

Although annual plan outlay for the current financial year was fixed at Rs 3650 crores and sectorial allocation already completed and passed by the State Assembly, fund allocation for departments has been revised.
After the State Cabinet decided on the sectorial/sub-sectorial allocation of the plan outlay in May, annual budget allocation for different departments was passed by the State Assembly.
It was after all these procedures were over that fund allocation for departments was revised anew, informed a source.
As per the revised allocation, fund allocation for Agriculture Department has been increased from Rs 759 lakh to Rs 1087 lakh while Horticulture Department's allocation has been reduced from Rs 400 lakh to Rs 380 lakh.
Fund allocation for Forest and Wildlife has been reduced to Rs 10887 lakh from Rs 10997 lakh.
Animal Husbandry too gets lesser fund allocation of Rs 452 lakh as against Rs 552 lakh allocated earlier.
Rs 8000 lakh set aside for the Government of India's flagship programme MGNREGS has been cut down to Rs 5000 lakh.
Fund allocation for Higher Education has been reduced from Rs 1500 lakh to Rs 1450 lakh.
In a similar pattern, fund allocation for School Education has been revised to Rs 5887 lakh from Rs 6187 lakh as Information and Public Relations gets Rs 200 lakh as against Rs 350 lakh allocated earlier.
However, Rs 3500 lakh allocated for Manipur Development Society was kept untouched.
The annual budget incorporates Rs 30 lakh for climate change adaptation and Rs 200 lakh for Kangla Fort Board corpus fund.
In addition, Rs 52 lakh have been set aside for payment of compensation for vehicles damaged on National Highways during bandhs or blockades.
