Imphal, June 08 2011:
MLA Moirangthem Okendro of Heirok Assembly Constituency today slammed the various UG groups in the state as well as police personnel for their anti people atrocities.
Speaking in the prize distribution function of the 'Explorer Sea' Youth Talent Search Programme organised by the Vision De Socio Upliftment Associaton, Heirok held at MDU Hall, Yaiskul, Okendro asked the motive behind the killing of innocent lives by UG cadres for simply asking the benefits of their existence.
Demanding a clarification for killing innocent lives in the fateful incident at Heirok some years back, Okendro strongly condemned the atrocities of the UG group.
Speaking about the present law and order situation in the state, Okendro expressed serious concern about the abrasive action of a police officer who is holding the responsibility of the caretaker of BOAT on May 26 at the theatre.
He said that the police officer, who is an inspector and posted in Imphal East district, disrupted the 'Explorer Sea' talent search competition of the Vision De Socio Upliftment Association by firing his small arm without any reason.
MLA, K Meghachandra and MLA M Okendro graced the function as chief guest and president respectively.
President, Vision De Socio Upliftment Association, N Manihar and Senior Youth Officer, Youth Affairs and Sports, M Chandrakumar also attended the function as guests of honour.
