17 CSOs raise counter blockade call

As many as 18 civil society organisations have called counter blockade all over the State in response to the blockade being imposed by Kangpokpi based civil organisations in Kangpokpi district over demarcation of Haraothel National Sports University campus.
A joint meeting of the Haomee Federation, Meitei Leepun, LOUSHAL, Moi-dangpok Committee, Village Development and Protection Committee (Leimakhong Chingmang), Khurkhul Nupi Lup, Khurkhul Apunba Clubs, Phumlou Youth Club, Kadangband Youth Club, Awang Sekmai Youth Club, Tairenpokpi Youth Club, Khonghampat Youth Club, Yelhoumee Kanba Lup, Senjam Khunou & Senjam Chirang Joint Development Organisation, KAL- DO and National Sports University Haraothel Protection Committee (NSUHPC) was held today at Kanto Awang Leikai.
The meeting adopted 10 resolutions including imposition of counter blockade all over the State with effect from 6 pm today in case the ongoing blockade is not lifted by 5 pm today.
The second resolution says that the Union Home Minister and relevant authorities would be approached to take up necessary legal action against frequent disturbances seen on National Highways.
An FIR should be registered and all the culprits involved in vandalising the sacred shrine of Konu Lairembi should be booked.
A criminal case should be registered and due compensation should be extracted from the culprits involved in committing arson at a water supply facility of Haraothel National Sports University (HNSU), reads the fourth resolution.
Non-Kuki tribes of Manipur and their student bodies should clarify their positions on the support extended by ATSUM and Kuki Inpi Manipur to the bandh being imposed in Kangpokpi district.
The State Government should open a security post near the National Sports University.
Being an asset for the whole country, the GOC of 57 Mountain Division (Leimakhong army) should be asked to patrol the surrounding areas of HNSU regularly, according to the seventh resolution.
The eighth solution challenged the Kuki community to fight in the law Court if they have documents to prove that Haraothel belongs to them.
The Government should not talk or take any decision regarding the university and its site with any other party except Senjam Chirang, Senjam Khunou and Koutruk which donated necessary land for the university, reads the ninth resolution.
