Imphal, September 07:
Former chief minister W Nipamacha Singh said he came to know only recently that Lok Sabha MP Th Chaoba is inimical to the state government employees, and dismissed as baseless Chaobas remark that implementation of the Fifth Pay Commission recommendations led to the imposition of Presidents rule in the state.
W Nipamacha, reacting to the reported remark of Chaoba, said in a release the United Front state government led by him could lift the status of the state government employees at par with their counterparts by implementing the Fifth Pay Commission recommendations.
He also said who was instrumental in imposition of PR in the state is known to all, as was also evident from the June 18 uprising.
Had not the UF ministry been disintegrated by Chaoba or later the RB Koijam ministry been pulled down, there would have been neither PR in the state nor the Bangkok agreement, Nipamacha said.
