MLA calls for peace

The violent clashes between sections of two communities who were living together peacefully for years are very unfortunate, said Kakching MLA M Rameshwar appealing to the public and civil society organisations to maintain calm and peace.
Speaking to the media at his residence at Kakching Makha Lou today, the MLA, who is also the National general secretary of National People's Party (NPP), said it is very saddening and unfortunate that hundreds of people have been displaced as a result of the clashes between the members of the communities.
Rameshwar continued that bringing the situation under control and containing the tension completely requires mutual understanding among all communities.
All the communities must communicate and resolve all misunderstandings between them for bringing normalcy and peace, he said stressing that it requires collective and united efforts of all to maintain peace in the State.
He emphasised that the public should not believe fake news and false propaganda that promote violence.
Rameshwar said that all the civil society organisations should work together to revive and revitalise the bond of brotherhood that was there between the communities.
He also lauded the Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, Superintendent of Police, Assam Rifles, NGOs and CSOs for their efforts in maintaining peace in the Constituency.
Meanwhile, MLA M Rameshwar has provided relief materials including grain to displaced people sheltering at 5 AR camp in Moreh.
