Lifeless body recovered

The lifeless body of a twenty year old youth with suspected injury marks was today found hanging from a tree among the woods near Pangzawl village around 11.30 am, according to the police.
Thangliansiam (20) son of (L) Thawnsong, College Veng, New Lamka bore several injury marks though he was found hanging with a rope on his neck about 15 ft high from a tree, said sources.
The police who picked up the body at around 1 pm have registered a suspected case of murder or murder with common intention.
Post mortem was conducted later in the evening at the district hospital morgue but it remains inconclusive.
Sources said the doctor concerned felt the need for forensic experts to make the final call on the cause of death as there are too many injury marks and the body had already shown signs of decay.
The body will be taken to Imphal tomorrow for further autopsy.
Meanwhile sources close to the family said the deceased youth was living with the parents of his mother after his father's demise and his mother also got re-married to another man.
For the past several months he had been at his mother and step-father's residence.
He is reported to have been last seen by the family members on Saturday.
