Imphal, January 05 2016:
Family of PWD SE Ningombam Subhash and people of his neighbourhood have categorically stated that the SE has nothing to do with the break-down of some portions of two Ima Keithels at the impact of the devastating earthquake which rocked the State last morning.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, Dr N Jitendra, elder brother of SE Subhash who is a Professor in JNIMS Surgery Department said that all the three Ima Keithels were constructed under the supervision of the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) and Subhash went to the markets only to make an assessment of the damages caused by the earthquake.
While conveying solidarity to all the victims of the unfortunate incident, Dr Jitendra decried the allegations made by some people against his younger brother as well as the demand for suspension.
"Subhash completed ME from IIT Rourkee and we don't expect him to work at such demeaning level", Dr Jitendra said.
He said that he was impelled to make this clarification in view of the possibility of viewing his younger brother by people in wrong light.
Local club and Meira Paibi leaders of Singjamei Chinga-makhong Chongtham Leikai were also present at the press meet.
Notably, SE Subhash hails from Singjamei Chinga-makhong Chongtham Leikai.
It was reported that the SE was attacked by Khwairam-band vendors yesterday.
