A non-local labourer who allegedly behaved offensively and in an indecent manner against women was pulled up and handed over to JCILPS.
Speaking to media persons at their Sega Road, Konjeng Hazari Leikai office this evening, JCILPS assistant convenor (organisation affairs committee) Hayatur Rahman Yumkhaibam said that one Nandakishore Rai (56) from Bihar made derisive and sexually offensive remarks to a fellow mason about the latter's wife at Chingmeirong this afternoon where they were working together.
On hearing the highly provocative remarks, the man assaulted Nandakishore Rai.
Soon people of the neighbourhood rushed in and on learning the reason of the assault, they too thrashed the non-local man.
Later he was handed over to JCILPS.
Nandakishore is presently staying in a rented room at Chingmeirong.
Such incidents were very rare at one time but they are occurring very frequently nowadays which only reveal how non-local man have been viewing Manipuri women, Hayatur said.
Nandakishore would be handed over to the owner of the house where he is staying and he would be instructed to go back to his native State, Hayatur added.
