Imphal, September 04 2014:
The scheduled dialogue between the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) and Chief Minister O Ibobi was aborted due to the Government's failure to release JCILPS executive member Advocate Pukhrambam Arjun.
Speaking to media persons at the Deputy Chief Minister's conference hall this afternoon, ILP Committee convenor MLA RK Anand said that the scheduled dialogue was aborted as the Government could not release Advocate P Arjun within the deadline given by the JCILPS.
JCILPS informed in advance they would come for the dialogue if Advocate Arjun was released and allowed to take part in the meeting.
But the deadline set by JCILPS was too short and the Government could not release Arjun in time as the Government was also too busy schedule with many other matters, Anand said.
Nevertheless, the Government is expected to take up some positive steps and it would seek opinions and suggestions of JCILPS representatives.
Anand said that the next meeting on the ILPS issue may be held at the State Assembly between JCILPS and the Government on September 8 .
MLA Dr Ng Bijoy and Dr I Ibohalbi were also present at the press meet.

JCILPS representatives and members of ILP Committee turned up at the Chief Minister's bungalow today for the dialogue on ILPS issue before it was eventually aborted.
