Imphal, September 03 2019:
Rebel BJP MLAs who have been camping at Delhi against the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren have expressed strong optimism that a new development is most likely by the second week of September.
Many BJP MLAs have been contending that Chief Minister N Biren has not been working to strengthen the party nor for the welfare for people, and they have been camping at Delhi.
Five/six BJP MLAs left Imphal for Delhi today taking the total number of rebel MLAs camping at the National capital to 13/14.One of the MLAs camping at Delhi told The Sangai Express that it would not serve anything good for the State if the man who has been rejected by majority of BJP MLAs continues to hold the rein of power.
No meaningful development works can be taken up under the leadership of such a man and he has no right to cling to the seat of Chief Minister, asserted the rebel MLA.
"We have already met some Central party leaders and made it clear that we longer trust the leadership of N Biren.
We also urged the Central leaders to remove N Biren from the Chief Minister's seat", said the MLA.
"As both the Parliament session and Assembly session are over now, we have been urging the Central leaders to translate their assurances into action", conveyed the MLA who sought anonymity.
The MLA exuded confidence that the BJP Central leaders are most likely to effect some changes by the second week of September.
Before the internal dissent intensified, Chief Minister N Biren took away the portfolios of some Ministers including a prominent BJP Minister.
