As requested by the Additional Public Prosecutor (APP), the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Imphal has today fixed September 4 for hearing the application filed by OC Irilbung PS seeking an order to allow conducting DNA test on 17 AR personnel involved in the arrest and subsequent killing of Thangjam Manorama on the intervening night of July 10 and 11.On August 31, the OC of Irilbung PS filed the application seeking an order from the CJM to conduct the DNA test as a part of the investigation being conducted by the police officer in connection with the FIR registered on the killing of Manorama.
Meanwhile the two 17 AR personnel, who failed to handover their blood samples for DNA testing to RIMS Forensic Department yesterday turned up at the Department today.
However their blood samples could not be collected due to some problems.
The two were asked to visit the Department at 10 am tomorrow.
It is pertinent to note that blood samples collected from 31 personnel of the same battalion on August 31, were sent to Central Institute of Forensic Laboratory (CIFL) Kolkata for DNA test yesterday by AR authorities.
