RIMS clarifies on how it tackles COVID-19 issue

Responding to a news report on the way they have been tackling the issue of COVID-19, RIMS authority has clarified that it has been working tirelessly round the clock along with other frontline workers i.e nurses, technicians, attendants, cleaners etc to contain the menace of COVID-19 .
A press release issued by RIMS Medical Superintendent Prof Ch Arunkumar said that RIMS Hospital has treated 285 COVID-19 patients and 241 got well and discharged as a result of working tirelessly by doctors, nurses and other frontline workers.
At the moment, there are 44 patients in RIMS Hospital COVID ward.
Due to the increasing number of positive cases among health care workers, the authority issued a circular and tested almost all the staff for COVID-19 on 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th and 30th July and nearly 2000 employees including the patients have been tested so far by available resources.
Still the testing process is going on at the VRDL through Flu Clinic.
It also clarified that RIMS authority has been issuing large number of PPE for personal safety of frontline workers and so far 5758 PPE have been issued as per hospital record while trying to contain this menacing contagion disease.
There is no shortage of PPE, N-95 masks and they are promptly issued whenever demanded.
Quarantine is one area where RIMS authority has been taking keen interest.
So far RIMS authority has opened quarantine sites at New Nursing College, Old Nursing College, Gymkhana, Guest House and recently some of the wards inside RIMS Hospital and so far 213 are in quarantine centre of RIMS as per the prevailing protocol.
Regarding the nursing duty, there is no bias in arranging COVID-19 duty.
It is done on lottery system by concerned ward nursing sisters and staff, Prof Ch Arunkumar added.
Ever since the State's second COVID-19 patient was admitted in RIMS Hospital COVID Block on March 31, RIMS Hospital authorities have been tackling the issue of COVID-19 well, mentioned the press release.
It further appealed to all the staff of RIMS to cooperate with the authority to fight the disease unitedly as COVID-19 can be contained only when all stake holders work collectively.
