Training prog for elementary school teachers begins

A five-day long training programme for elementary teachers of schools under ZEO zone-1, Imphal West and ZEO, Wangoi, which is being organised jointly by State Council of Educational Research and Training, Manipur (SCERT) and District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Imphal West began at DIET, DMU campus on Friday.
The inaugural function of the training programme was attended by SCERT (vocational education) professor A Romel Singh, DIET Imphal West principal A Gambhir Singh and SCERT Manipur liaison officer L Khurshov Singh as presidium members.
Speaking at the function, Romel informed that that SCERT along with DIET centres has been organising capacity building programmes for teachers at different districts to efficiently implement NEP, 2020 in the state.
He stressed the roles of those in education sector in fulfilling the objectives of NEP so as to ensure that the benefit of the policy is reaped by the students.
So, there is the need to understand the Act thoroughly by the primary and elementary school teachers, he added.
