Nemcha Kipgen launches Covid vaccination bus

Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency became the first constituency in the State with a Covid Vaccination Bus following the launching , of the Vaccination Bus by the local MLA, Nemcha Kipgen today.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Bus is a noble initiative of the local MLA to improve Covid vaccination in her Constituency.
The launching ceremony of the COVID-19 Vaccination Bus for Kangpokpi AC was held in front of Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi office.
It was attended by SDO Kangpokpi, SDO Champhai, CMO Kangpokpi, and COVID Task Force representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Nemcha Kipgen said that the COVID-19 Vaccination Bus was launched to improve vaccination under Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency and the bus would be used to transport any willing individual to the vaccination site at Inspection Bungalow Hall in Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
"Our Prime Minister has provided free vaccines to the people and as the MLA, I have provided my people free transportation for vaccination", said Nemcha Kipgen.
She said that with the detection of the new "Delta Variant" in the State, it has become essential to get vaccinated and stay protected from the new variant.
With curfew enforced in the district and difficulties of transportation, many people could not get themselves vaccinated, so to reach out to all willing individuals and get them vaccinated on time, the vaccination bus was launched, she added.
She also said that with the launching of the COVID-19 Vaccination Bus the Covid Task Force could transport all willing individuals from their areas easily to the vaccinations centre following SOPs.
The MLA further appealed to all the people of Kangpokpi AC to get vaccinated at the earliest.
The CMO while highlighting the low percentage of vaccination in the district, exhorted the Covid Task Force to embark on an extensive awareness campaign.
Meanwhile, DC Kangpokpi Somorjit Salam said that considering the low percentage of vaccination in the district a joint meeting was held today with the medical department and plan & strategies were deliberated.
He continued that an extensive awareness campaign would begin from Monday and exhorted the Covid Task Force to assist the district administration and medical department in imparting awareness on vaccination.
