Imphal, October 16 2022:
Manipur People's Democratic Front (MPDF) secretary Sapam Samungou has said that there will be development, peace and rule of law in Manipur only when people and elected representatives exercise their fundamental duties sincerely.
Samungou told media persons during a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, here, on Sunday that molestation, kidnapping, killings and undesired incidents in Manipur will continue until there is general awareness on fundamental duties of 60 MLAs and MPs elected by the people.
Had the elected representatives, people and bureaucrats done their duties well and sincerely, Manipur would have been developed many years back and shine in the globe.
However, 90 percent of people in the state are doing whatever they want and this has put the state to the wrong path, he said and maintained that 90 percent of state's voters are yet to wake up from their deep slumber.
