Imphal, May 15 2022:
While strongly condemning the bomb blast that took place near a religious site Khurai Ahongpung, Ahongei (Telipati) on May 13 evening, Maichou Ningshing Lup, Khurai has appealed to all those who triggered the blast not to repeat such acts in future.
The Lup also expressed serious remorse over the rude remarks by a non-local against police regarding the blast which went viral on social media and urged government to look into the matter seriously.
While refuting the claim of a non-local that they have been living in Manipur for more than 250 years, the Lup said that the non-local's statement which went viral on social media contradicts history of the land and it is misleading.
The Lup also asked the non-local to clarify through media if his statement was true.
While referring to L Kuleshwar Khanganba's book 'History of Meetei people - Holy Book', the Lup said that Teli people Of Bihar first settled at Telipati and Mantripukhri in the year 1924 after the then ruler Churachand Maharaj called them for producing mustard oil.
The Lup also said that Gurudayan Mukhral Sahu brothers brought the first ever mustard oil production machine in Manipur and thus replaced traditional method of mustard oil production in the state.
In view of this historical fact, the statement made by the non-local distorting history of Manipur was very unfortunate, the Lup added.
