Imphal, August 20 2022:
Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) executive committee president SK Wajid Shah has been reportedly removed from the post of president and membership of MMWO after being named as a suspect in a crime.
In a release, MMWO stated that it has been working for the welfare of the state with no discrimination on the basis of religion, community and social status.
Recently, SK Wajid was named as a suspect in a case, which means he is no longer eligible to work as a volunteer of the organisation.
As such, a meeting of MMWO Advisory Board convened on August 18 unanimously decided to remove SK Wajid from the post of president and revoked his membership as per the constitution of MMWO.
Advisory Board member Abdulla Phundreimayum will take the charge of president hereafter, it informed.
