Loktak Bn provides doorstep medical assistance

Imphal, December 08 2022:
Loktak Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted "doorstep medical assistance" at Karang island village in Bishnupur district on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that a free doorstep medical assistance was provided to residents of Karang island village where requisite medical facilities are not available.
The aim of the medical camp was to provide medical treatment to the local inhabitants of remote areas; devoid of requisite medical facilities.
A well constituted team of medical staff of Company Operating Base, Sendra of the Battalion conducted the medical camp, wherein the team treated the patients besides providing medicines to the needy villagers.
A total of 100 patients that included 35 men, 50 women and 15 children were examined and treated during the free medical camp.
Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted and emphasis on importance of hygiene and sanitation was explained by all the doctors and medical staff to the villagers for better living standard.
The local populace of Karang island village highly appreciated the initiative of Loktak Battalion for provides free medical treatment, added the PRO.
