AR units conduct training, plantation drive, blood donation camp

With an aim to motivate the local youth join the armed forces as a career, Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a pre-re-cruitment training at Shalluk village in Chandel district on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the pre-recruitment training was carried out in three phases where the youths were briefed about enrolment process, documentation and physical standards required for Armed Forces.
A total 28 youths (boys and girls) participated in the training, it added.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion organised a Tree Plantation Drive at Chingarel Tejpur in Imphal East district on Tuesday to make the locals aware about the importance of trees in our lives and to save the environment.
During the event an informative lecture was also delivered on "Importance of Tree plantation and its benefits", informed the PRO in another release.
On the other-hand, Modi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a blood donation camp in Chandel district on Tuesday during which a total of 15 members of Chandel Riders' Association and five personnel of Chandel Battalion donated blood.
As part of the camp, an awareness lecture on blood donation was also conducted, the PRO said, adding that the locals commended efforts of the Assam Rifles to provide humanitarian assistance and relief.
