MU students leave for Punjab

As part of the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat - Yuva Sangam', chief minister N Biren on Monday flagged off a student team of Manipur University to participate in an interaction programme at Central University of Punjab, from the CM's Bungalow, here.
The interaction programme will be held till March 12.Speaking on the occasion, CM Biren pointed out that under the long-term vision of PM Narendra Modi, interaction programmes are being organised between students from different universities and institutions to develop bonding between students of mainland and north-eastern states and also help reduce incidents of discrimination against the northeast people.
The flagging off ceremony was also attended by MU vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra and other staff.
The chief minister also conveyed his best wishes to the team comprising 30 students and three teachers.
The students are from different institution from across the state.
The tour is organised by the paired universities of Manipur University and Central University, Punjab.
Earlier, another team of students led by the Indian Institute of Information Technology.
(HIT) - Manipur had visited Nagpur in Maharashtra which was recently reciprocated by students from Nagpur.
