Tribal legislators take ADC Bill case to central leaders

Senapati, September 30 2021:
A team of tribal MLAs led by Hill Areas Committee (HAC) chairman K Leishiyo Keishing along with Outer MP Dr Lorho Pfoze met several central leaders on September 28 .
The delegation reportedly apprised DoNER minister G Kishan Reddy, who met them on behalf of the Prime Minister, of their demand for implementation of Article 371(C) in letter and spirit in Manipur.
The union minister, in turn, assured to convey the issue to the Prime Minister.
The team also reportedly met union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday and apprised him of the same issue.
Later, they (MLAs) called on union social justice & empowerment minister Pratibha Bhowmik and Inner MP RK Ranjan Singh, union minister of state (external affairs & education) in New Delhi.
Although the details of their meeting could not be ascertained, sources informed that the team apprised the union ministers of the prevailing situation in the state following refusal to table the Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous District Council Act, 2021 recommended by the HAC during the recently concluded state legislative assembly.
