KSO backs Abonmai JAC; Khumbong mourns

People of Kangpokpi district under the aegis of Kuki Students' Organization, Sadar Hills have endorsed agitation of the JAC against the Brutal Murder of Athuan Abonmai including the 48 hours road blockade which began from Monday midnight.
Hemin Kipgen, president KSO Sadar Hills, said that the road blockade imposed by JAC against the Brutal Murder of Athuan Abonmai is endorsed by the people of Kangpokpi district and they will continue to support the movement of the JAC to deliver justice to the victim and the bereaved family.
He appealed to all to stay away from travelling along the national highway 2 during the road blockade as volunteers of KSO Sadar Hills will strictly monitor the movement of vehicles along the national highway.
Only emergency services will be exempted from the purview of the road blockade and any unwanted incident arising out of defying the blockade shall be the sole responsibility of the violators and the state government, added the KSO SH leader.
Meanwhile, condemning the gruesome murder of Zeliangrong Baudi advisor Athuan Abonmai, Local Disaster Response Force (LDRF) Khumbong organised a candle light vigil at Khumbong Keithel on Tuesday.
In a release, LDRF informed that local club and meira paibi members attended the candle light vigil and they observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Welcoming the decision of the government to hand over the case of Athuan Abonmai to the NLA, LDRF urged the government to exert more pressure so as to initiate the probe.
LDRF will support every democratic movement pursued by the JAC against the murder of Athuan Abonmai, the release informed, while sharing pain and grief of the bereaved family.
