'Hunger Free Life-My Constitutional Right' campaign concludes

All Manipur Democratic Women's Association (AMDWA) culminated the Hunger Free Life-My Constitutional Right' signature campaign on Sunday, with collection of around 25,115 signatures, which will soon be submitted to the President of India.
The campaign was launched by AMDWA under the aegis of All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) .
During the campaign, AMDWA volunteers visited over 200 villages and towns in the 16 districts of Manipur and collected around 25,115 signatures.
The main demands of the campaign include strengthening the Public Distribution System (PDS) and ensuring its benefits are delivered to each and every person.
Other demands to be submitted to the President of India along with the signatures include increasing the budgetary allocation for food security; increasing the quantity of rice/pulses provided through PDS; fixing prices of pulses, cooling oil, sugar and 14 other items and kerosene (per litre) at Rs 15, and prevent any price hike; lower the price of cooking gas cylinder, and stop usage of biometric system in PDS.
During the closing function, AMDWA president Chanambam Sundari, vice president Asem Binodini, secretary Ayekpam Ashabala Devi, treasurers Yumnam Nganthoibi and Yumnam Ganga jointly announced the end of the campaign.
