No normal sittings of HC till Jul 10

Imphal, July 01 2021:
All regular functioning of Manipur High Court including hearing of cases through video conferencing have been suspended till July, 10, Manipur High Court registrar general Golmei Gaiphulsillu has notified in an order on Thursday.
According to the order, following conveyance from the state government regarding extension of the curfew in 7 districts, all functioning of the High Court will remain suspended till July 10.Cases/matters listed for July 5 will be heard on July 16, July 6 on 17, July 7 on 20, July 8 on 20 and July 9 on 22 .
Interim orders, subsisting and any matters which are listed matters shall stand extended till corresponding dates.
For any fresh/pending motion requiring urgent hearing before July 9, the counsel concerned should approach the registrar/joint registrar (judicial) and provide reasonable ground for the same.
If the request is approved by the Chief Justice, a division/single bench shall be constituted to hear the matter via video conferencing.
Normal sittings of District and Sessions Judges Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal , Churachandpur and Ukhrul along with Tribunals, Family Courts, and Special Courts shall stay suspended till July 9 .
However, the District and Sessions Judge/presiding officer should prepare a roster system for bail and urgent civil/criminal matters.
Interim orders granted by Courts/Tribunals for a specified period shall be extended till the next date for effective hearing.
The member secretary of MASLSA may designate an appropriate person to address/ take up any urgent legal aid matter.
Additionally, Manipur Judicial Academy may resume online training programmes from July1 while strictly adhering to Covid-19 protocols and SOP, the order conveyed.
