Army commander calls for saving pony

Eastern Command army chief of staff Lt General KK Repswal has given the clarion call to all concerned to contribute their mite in the conservation of the endangered Manipuri pony.
In his brief address during the inaugural match on the fifth day of the on-going Manipur International Polo Festival at Mapal Kangjeibung on Saturday, Lt General KK Repswal praised people of Manipur as the state has been acknowledged as a powerhouse of sports in the country and also applauded the state for successfully hosting group matches of the Durand Cup football tournament recently.
He also appealed to the people to join hands in conserving the Pony.
The event was also attended by MHRPA honorary president (IAS retired) H Deleep Singh as president while IG AR (south) Major General Rajan Sharawat, 57 Mountain Division GOC Brigadier SJ Riwari, CRPF Manipur & Nagaland sector IGP Sandeep Datta, BSF M&N Frontier IG BK Jha were the guests of honour.
