17 more test positive in Tengnoupal

Imphal, January 25 2022:
Seventeen people tested positive for Covid-19 in Tengnoupal district on Tuesday.
Out of 70 people who underwent Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT), 16 including 11 women, tested positive for Covid-19 .
Moreover, out of the five people who underwent RAT at Sub-district Hospital, Moreh, an eleven-year old boy was found positive for Covid-19 .
On the other hand, under the supervision of CMO Tengnoupal Dr Kh Gojen Singh, a team led by Covid Testing in-charge Tengnoupal Dr Angdar Maring conducted mass Covid-19 vaccination programme at Khashim village community hall.
It is informed that three people were found positive during COVID-19 mass testing programme in Moreh on Sunday and Monday.
However, all the 34 people handed over by 20 Assam Rifles to Moreh police on Sunday were found negative when they underwent RAT under the aegis of District Surveillance Officer, Tengnoupal Dr Cecil Ahongshangbam.
Out of the 34 people, 22 are Myanmarese nationals who were nabbed by 20 AR at Khudengthabi while trying to travel to Imphal without valid documents and the rest are Indians who brought the Myanmar nationals.
On the same day, two people tested positive for Covid-19 during RAT conducted at sub-district hospital, Moreh and they hail from Moreh Ward No.(8) Ngamkhai Veng and imphal East.
On Monday, one more person tested positive during RAT at sub-district hospital, Moreh and the positive person hails from Khunumjang village.
All the positive patients are being kept under home isolation, informed Dr Cecil Ahongshangbam.
