Sit-in protests hit-and-run case

The family members of one Md Ayazuddin (60), who was killed in a hit-and-run case on June 17 night, demanded swift measures by IO of the case to arrest the culprits.
During a sit-in protest held at ABA ground, Kshetrigao on Wednesday to demand justice to Ayazuddin, Kshetrigao Part 1 Gram Panchayat ward member Md Kutub Ali told the media that on June 17 night while returning home from work Ayazuddin (60) and his son Sahid Chesty (25) were hit by an Alto Car along DC road, a few metres away from Porompat police station.
While Ayazuddin died at the spot, Sahid suffered serious injuries and some locals rushed him to JNIMS hospital.
However, since his condition deteriorate Sahid has been taken to Guwahati for further treatment, he stated.
Noting that Porompat police station had already registered an FIR related to the accident, Kutub Ali, however, lamented that the police are yet to identify or arrest the culprits even after 6 days since the accident took place.
The police should examine the CCTV cameras installed along the DC road stretch so as to arrest the culprits at the earliest, he suggested and appealed to the Chief Minister to look into the matter.
