Kakching, March 21 2023:
The Governing Body of Pole Star College, Hiyanglam Wa-bagai has appealed to all concerned to work for making the college a full-fledged government college and not to interfere in activities of the college.
According to Governing Body convener Konthoujam Manihar, Pole Star College was one of the leading colleges in the state with high enrolment rate of students every year in the past.
However, misunderstanding between the past Governing Body and staff led to numerous problems for several years.
The college was left with only 20/30 students at one point of time but these few students along with well-wishers and generous Wabagai locals played pivotal role in saving the college from losing its recognition.
Accordingly, the college redeveloped gradually and even became a government aided college on October 25,2021 .
The present General Body (GB) of the college was constituted for only three months under certain conditions initially and then extended for six months after signing an agreement on October 29,2021.With the anticipation that the college would become a full-fledged government college, some members of the past General Body which almost abolished the college are now beginning to take advantage, Konthoujam Manihar said and made it clear to all concerned that no appointment of teaching and non-teaching without the decision of the General Body will be valid.
He also appealed to current members of the General Body to resign in accordance with the conditions and agreement signed earlier so as to help in making the college a full-fledged government college.
