COVID-19 mass testing and vaccination programmes held

Mass testing and vaccination drive for COVID-19 were conducted at various places across the State today to help in combating the pandemic effectively.
Khundrakpam
Mass testing cum vaccination programme for COVID-19 was organised by Pangei Nepali Basti 2nd Wave COVID-19 Task Force of Khundrakpam AC today.
The programme has been organised under the guidance of MLA of Khundrakpam AC Th Lokeshwor Singh and pradhan of Waiton Gram Panchayat Pukhrambam Surbala Devi, said a press release by the Task Force.
Altogether 36 persons were tested for COVID-19, out of which 6 persons were found to be Covid positive, one from Waiton Makha Leikai and 5 persons from Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai.
And a total of 137 persons were vaccinated in today's programme.
Khurai
Mass vaccination programmes for COVID-19 were held at Popular High School and Kongpal Ningthoubung Leikai in Khurai AC today organised by District Administration Imphal East and CMO Imphal East in association with local clubs.
Around 210 persons were vaccinated today in the vaccination programmes which was organised under the aegis of L Susindro, MLA of Khurai AC.
Speaking on the sidelines, general secretary of Kongpal Youth Development Club (KYDC), L Chandrasekhar said that mass vaccination drive are being conducted with an aim to make Khurai AC a Covid free constituency.
To make this drive successful and to motivate the vaccinees, 5 kgs of rice each, sanitizers, face masks and medicines are being distributed to all those who came to take the vaccine under the aegis of L Susindro, he added.
Mass vaccination programmes are scheduled to be held at Popular High School and Moirangkampu tomorrow (June 24) .
Thongju
A mass COVID-19 vaccination drive was held at Ibudhou Thongju Lakpa Shanglen in Thongju AC today to inoculate the locals of Thongju Part II Gram Panchayat.
A press release by Thongju Kendra Voluntary Workers COVID-19 Relief Committee (TKRC) said that the vaccination drive has been organised by TKRC and Thongju Part II Gram Panchayat Task Force in association with local clubs of Thongju Part II and 9 ward members under the aegis of MLA of Thongju AC Thongam Biswajit Singh.
Around 219 persons were vaccinated in today's mass vaccination drive.
TKRC maintained that COVID-19 mass testing and vaccination programmes have been conducted in 19 different locations in Thongju AC in a bid to protect its people from .the deadly pandemic.
The committee extended gratitude to Thongam Biswajit Singh and the medical team of CMO Imphal East for organising such vaccination programmes.
