Imphal, February 17 2022:
With several strong BJP workers and supporters joining INC, the defeat of BJP in Langthabal assembly constituency is imminent, said INC candidate for the constituency Okram Joy.
While felicitating Ningombam Nilakumar, who contested the 2017 state assembly election on NEI-DP ticket, along with his core committee members, during a function held at Kakwa Naorem Leikai on Thursday, O Joy said that Nilakumar was put in fray to weaken INC's position in the last election and it became the main reason for his loss.
However, this time, BJP's loss is imminent in the constituency, predicted the seasoned politician.
He also accused the sitting MLA of the constituency of not able to table budget of his department and charged him of doing nothing when the fate of Manipur University was hanging in the balance.
Moreover, the MLA also failed to speak on behalf of the state and its people on the border pillar issue.
People now see his true colour and it will lead to his downfall, O Joy said.
Maintaining that BJP selected corrupt politicians over true social workers, who have made significant contribution to the party for several years, O Joy said that such nature of the party will lead to its downfall and the party will be able to win only about 10 seats in the ensuing election.
