AMTDGF hails Govt for releasing MGNREGS funds

Imphal, March 13 2023: All Manipur Tribals Development Grievances Forum (AMTDGF) has expressed its elation and gratitude to the state government for releasing the remaining balance fund under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to all the 16 districts of the state, especially on the eve of Yaoshang Festival.

In a press note released on Monday, the Forum also appealed to the state government and its office functionaries to initiate necessary measures for clearing the pending liabilities and to take up new works under MGNREGA in the larger interest of registered job card holders of the state.

It also hoped that the Material Component under MGNREGA shall be sanctioned by the central government to the state government, while adding that the Forum will extend all possible cooperation to the state government in ensuring successful works under MGNREGA.

The Forum then reminded the state government that it is not against the incumbent government but is only highlighting the grievances of the public to the government.

AMTDGF is not interest in agitating or imposing economic blockades but was compelled to do so after the government failed to respond to the plight of the common people, the press note conveyed.
