MLA Joykisan relieves escort personnel

Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan on Monday relieved his escort personnel along with six additional police personnel deployed by home department few days back for his security.
Bidding farewell to the secu-rity personnel, the MLA wished them success in maintaining law and order, and also in pro-tecting the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Interacting with the media, Joykisan said that despite the multiple efforts and calls for restoring peace from both gov-ernment and CSOs, there is no respite from the violence.
He is relieving his escort personnel as they are needed to protect the territorial integrity of the state and protect public lives and properties.
This is a gesture from his end to help the government in restoring peace, he said.
Regarding the public demand for resignation of 50 MLAs, Joy-kisan said that he was elected by the people of his constituency and he will not hesitate a mo-ment if the situation demands his resignation and his people have the same sentiment.
He further appealed to the pub-lic not to block movement of security personnel, and also to maintain peace in the val-ley so that security personnel deployed in the valley could be utilised in the foothills.
The MLA also expressed confidence that union home minister Amit Shah will find a means to restore peace in the state.
