Six state cops among MHA medal winners

On the eve of the 73rd Republic Day celebration, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced names of winners of police medals, the highest award given by the ministry in police service, and six Manipur police personnel figured among 939 medal winners for this year.
Among the six from Manipur, one each has been selected for Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) and President's Police Medal for Distinguish Service (PPM) while four have been chosen for Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM) .
In the list of medal winners announced by the MHA on Tuesday, ASI Ningthoujam Ibotomba of Manipur police figured among 189 winners of PMG medal while 7 IRB commandant Mangkhojang Kipgen was among 88 PPM medal winners.
Four other personnel of Manipur police namely IGP (training) police headquarters Helthang Thangoulen Gangte, MPTC's Subedar Takhelmayum Gojendro, Subedar Sunil Kumar Soram and Havildar Yumnam Guneshwar Singh also figured among 662 PM medal winners.
Apart from them, Manipur central jail head warder Md Kalam Shah figured among Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service winners.
Meanwhile, names of police personnel who are to receive different awards in connection with Republic Day celebration in the state have been announced.
Inspector CBI (currently inspector vigilance & anti-corruption Manipur) W Ashok Kumar and 2nd MR Havildar Sambhulal Pradhan will receive President's Police Medal for Distinguish Service.
IGP (Zone-II) currently IGP (prison) Lunsei Kipgen (IPS), inspector (vigilance & anti-corruption Manipur) Thokchom Manihar, inspector Ng Anthony Suresh, CID (SB) SI L Debananda Singh, 1 IRB Subedar Khaikhojam Thahgen, MPTC Havildar Md Lal Mohamed and 6 IRB Havildar Wangkheirakpam Robindro Singh will receive Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
MPTC Jemadar Laishram Chingkheinganba and Rifleman Thongram Ajit will receive Union Home Minister Medal for Excellence in Police Training during the Republic Day celebration on Wednesday.
ADGP (Training) Manipur Clay Khongsai (IPS) and 6th MR Rifleman Rinakhao Ruivah will receive Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak and Utkrisht Seva Padak medals respectively.
Those who would receive Police Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak for North East Region are IGP (Training) currently IGP (cyber-crime) H Thanghaolian Gangte, SP Imphal West currently 1st MR CO Dr S Ibomcha Singh (MPS), in-charge special AIG (legal) Luikham Lanmiyo (MPS), 4 IRB Subedar M Dimartan Singh, 4 IRB Jemadar K Ratankumar Singh, 4 IRB Jemadar Kh Jibankumar, CID (security) SI Laiphrakpam Suranjoy Singh, 1st MR Havildar Md Rashid Ali, 1st MR Havildar N Kiranjit Singh, 6th MR Havildar Ramshang Horthing, 6th MR Havildar Stephen Nekminlun, 6th MR Havildar M Chinlienmang, 6th MR Rifleman Siningson Shinglai and 6th MR Rifleman Wuleng Thotmathing.
