Sit-in demands resignation of non-Kuki MLAs

A sit-in protest was held at Yairipok Bishnunaha Pukhri Achouba Mapal on Wednesday under the aegis of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) demanding resignation of the 50 non-Kuki MLAs over the prevailing situation in the state, withdrawal of So0 with Kuki militants and denunciation of demand for separate administration of Kuki and its kindred tribes.
The protest organised by Bishnunaha Youth Federation, Yairipok (BYFY) was participated by members of Soc al Economic and De-velopment Organisation (SEDO), Yairipok Bazar; Bamol Leikai Youth Club, Yairipok (BYCY); Siphai Leikai Guidance Club (SLGC), Yairipok; and local meira paibi groups along with public.
Speaking in connection to the sit-in, BYFY president Laishram Anand informed that it was organised to oppose attacks by Kuki militants and the demand of separate ad-ministration.
Decrying the alleged silence of non-Kuki MLAs over the distressful situation, he as-serted that they should tender resignation on moral ground.
During the protest, the agitators also held placards and slogans in support of their demands.
