AMUCO hoists 'Ibudhou Pakhangba' flag

Commemorating the Independence of Manipur from the British colonial rule, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) hoisted 'Ibudhou Pakhangba Gi Tuthup 9 Yekpa' flag at its Kwakeithel office on Sunday.
Speaking in this regard, AMUCO vice president Koijam Helen recounted that Manipur regained independence from British on August 14, 1947 and even formed its own government along with framing a Constitution.
However, India forcefully annexed Manipur and people are still aggrieved till today, he contended.
Meanwhile, AMUCO along with different local clubs of Hojai in Assam celebrated Manipur Independence Day by hoisting 'Ibudhou Pakhangba gi Tuthup 9 yekpa' flag at Kathatoli, Udaipur, Bishnupur, Moinapathar and Jugijan Rajbari.
The AMUCO team visiting Hojai and Lanka led by its president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang handed over a sum of Rs 10000 to Hojai Thang-ta Association as an encouragement for teaching Thang-ta to children below 11 years of age.
