National Blood Donation Day observed

Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Imphal West district in association with JNIMS Blood Bank observed the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day along with organising a blood donation camp and awareness programme on Friday.
Altogether, 35 volunteers of the Society as well as Biramangol College Sawombung Youth Red Cross Society donated blood during the camp.
DC Imphal East Khumanthem Diana distributed certificates and encouraged the donors.
IRCS state secretary RK Nimai also attended the function during which IRCS Imphal West chairman Narendra Ningomba spoke on importance of blood donation while calling upon healthy people, especially youth to donate blood so as to save human lives.
As a part of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day; Life Savers Manipur, IRCS units of Imphal West, Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts, State Blood Transfusion Council, Manipur, State Blood Cell-National Health Mission and district hospital blood bank Churachandpur also organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the district hospital on Friday.
In a release, Life Savers Manipur (LISAM) informed that the camp was attended by blood bank, Churachandpur officer Dr Bijayenta, Life Savers Manipur managing director K Padmakumar Sharma, IRCS Imphal West district branch secretary Dr Bangkim, IRCS Bishnupur joint secretary E Premjit, IRCS Churachandpur secretary St Lalson, LISAM board of trustee member P Dhananjoy, and 69th time donor Kh Premjit among others.
Many youths donated blood during the camp held on the theme 'Give blood and keep the world beating' .
