State team leaves for BKI national championship

A 46 member Manipur team left to take part in the 40th Budokan Karate-Do International (BKI) National Karate Championship 2022 to be held from November 4 to 6 at Amrith Gardens, Udupi in Karnataka.
Before flagging off the team, a blessing ceremony was held at office premises of Kanglei Sports Academy (KANGLASA), Kyamgei Heibong Makhong in the presence of KANGLASA vice president professor Joykumar Leishemba, Kyamgei Youth Pioneers Club president Nepram Kisan, Thoithoi Adventure Park proprietor Kh Naoba and parents of the players.
According to KANGLASA director Kh Sanjit, BKI national karate championship-2022 is being/held after a gap of two years due to COVID-19 pandemic and the state team will participate in different categories of the championship.
He said that 12 players of Manipur will take part in sub-junior boys' category, six in sub junior girls' category, six in junior boys' category and one each player in men's senior and women's senior categories.
