Ex-servicemen meet, interaction prog held

Phundrei Battalion of IGAR(S) organised ex-serviceman meet at Phundrei village in Thoubal district with the stated objective to connect with veterans, strengthen the bond with them and acknowledge the contribution made by them to the nation through their service.
The problems besetting ex-servicemen were also addressed in the meet.
A total of 87 ex-serviceman and 5 veer naris along with dependents attended the meet.
The Assam Rifles on the occasion standing true to its motto "Friends of the Hill People" took up the social welfare step by organising meet for the ex-servicemen with the hope that these small initiatives will bring positivity in the minds and happiness in the minds of local residents, said the PRO.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles and IGAR (South) organised an interaction programme with mem bers of meira paibi groups, youth club and village development committee at Chingkhu village in Imphal East district on Monday.
The PRO said that the aim of the meeting was to strengthen the bonding with local people, meira paibi and village authorities.
The meet focused upon measures to empower youth and woman and also provided the platform for discussion of various issues being faced by meira paibi, youth and village development committee of Chingkhu.
A total of 52 members attended the meet.
