Pointing out that there are several things that could not be achieved in today's developed scientific world if one is bereft of spiritual mindsets, Biren said that believing in spirituality gives calmness to the minds and could also bring peace.
As such, unity, peace and harmony could not be ensured only by the government but needs the joint efforts of the people and civil society organisations, he remarked.
The conference was attended by ISKCON Manipur chairman Ekanath Das, Babina Group chairman and MD Dr Th Dabhali and several leaders and intellectuals following different faiths.
Speaking to media persons, ISKCON Manipur president Sadhu Bhushan Das informed that as every person is different they have their own belief system and aspiration.
However, one must respect the belief system and ideas of others.
The conference is being organised to provide a common platform despite having different beliefs to ensure peace and communal harmony in the state.
