Imphal, June 23 2021:
In continuation of their nationwide protest against fuel price hike, Left parties of the state on Wednesday staged protest at Langjing oil pump demanding the government to roll back the fuel price.
At the protest site, CPI state secretary L Sotinkumar termed the hike in fuel price as a direct blow to the poor people of the state and demanded immediate measure to bring down the price.
CPI-M state council secretary Ksh Shanta said that leaders of NDA allies are not saying anything about the fuel price hike, which is very unfortunate.
He accused the BJP government of favouring corporates and ignoring the plight of the poor people.
CPI Imphal West district secretary Thiyam Megha and CPI-M state secretariat member Sarat Salam also participated in the protest.
