Imphal, January 21 2022:
Village authority, club and association of Huikap dismissed as baseless and malicious allegations levelled by Angtha GP ward number 7 member Thangjam Binoy through the media that workers of Andro ex-MLA Th Shyamkumar imposed restriction on some people of Huikap who went to support intending candidate Lourembam Sanjay.
A joint press conference of representatives of Huikap village authority, Young Fanners' Club, Youth Development Association, Youth Welfare Association and Huikap Apunba Meira Paibi was held at Huikap Mayai Leikai community hall on Friday.
Speaking to media persons, Huikap village authority secretary Chongtham Tomba dismissed the claim made by Thangjam Binoy and said that it is politically motivated aimed at creating animosity in the village.
The denizens of Huikap are proof that there was no restriction given to any person.
Binoy and his groups should bear all the responsibility if any untoward incidents occur in the village due to such misleading claims, he added.
Pointing out that the villagers are working to ensure free and fair election and prevent any unwanted poll-related incidents from taking place in the village, Tomba said that any kind of feasts related to election and consumption of addictive substances have been restricted in the village for more than a year now.
People of Huikap are against the false claim made by Binoy, he added.
