Karl Marx tribute event held

Imphal, March 14 2022:
Communist Party of India (CPI), Manipur State Council observed the 139th death anniversary of Karl Marx, who is known as father of Marxism and also laid the foundation of scientific socialism.
The observance was attended by party's secretariat member A Lala, N Singhajit Singh, M Sorojini Devi, executive members, state 'Council members and local leaders among others.
Speaking on the occasion, A Lala highlighted that the sentence 'Workers of the world unite; you have nothing to lose but your chains' in 'The Communist Manifesto' jointly published by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels haunted many powerful nations during that time.
While stating that the economic theory propounded by Marx is still practicable in contemporary society, he pointed out that during the 2nd world financial crisis in 2008 which affected Europe, America and Asia, renowned economists relooked at Karl Marx's Das Kapital.
People should acknowledge that the economic theory of Marx will be applicable for a long time, he said.
Floral tributes were paid to the photo of Karl Marx as a mark of respect during the observance.
